MY BODY WEARS DOWN

Everything I expressed
Were all true and quick,
Seeds of conscience sown
Made it fake and slow;
My body that looks free
Has it's soul locked inside,
Locked till my body wears down
Locked till my life wears down.

FATHER FOOLED ME

I always played a game
A game that I always win,
Game involving my dad
Whom I always used to fool;
Woking him early from bed
To playing with him late night,
The wallet he carried was thick
As if he was bank for me.

Today after many years
Living many miles away,
Going back to hometown
To meet my superhero again;
Saw his thick wallet again
Curiously checked it first time,
Found pieces of paper therein
Loosing and defeating myself.

THE LEAF SURVIVED

Oh! Look at that leaf
Clinging on that tree,
Ready to fall anytime
Counting its last days;
Last time I saw it
Was bubbling afresh,
Surrounded by pals
Looking to go ahead.

Struggled through summer
Slapped hard by monsoon,
Journey started and ended
Cycle now got completed;
Many were there on tree
But I remember only it,
Just like my writing
It's struggle is its identity.

चल उड़ चल

एक ही दिन है उत्तरायण का
एक ही ज़िन्दगी है जीने की,
चल उड़ चल दूर गगन में
मत हार मान कट कट कर;
होने दे ज़ख़्मी उँगलियों को
थकने दे अंदर की रूह को,
फिर बाँध एक नयी पतंग
हासिल कर ले अपना मुकाम।

MY KITE WILL FLY HIGH

Their kites are strong
Stronger are their threads,
Add to these their skill
Making them invincible;
I want to fly high
Higher and higher my kite,
But those flying eagles
Feeds on my tender bird.

Exhausting and tiring it gets
With every kite cutting down,
But the will and toughness
Resists the imploding 'NO';
As the bruised fingers
Tie the knot of hope on kites,
Rides on 'ONCE MORE' feel
To live the day as never lived.

WEREWOLF

Bitten by love insect
On the moonlit day
Werewolf howls loud
Lamenting his love's lose
Seeing the moon in night
His past flashbacks
Digging out the emotions
That he buried in heart.

The day passes hiding
Hiding his frustration
Showcasing everyone
That everything is OK
But the light of night
Burns the wore mask
Revealing the inner self
As beast craves for beauty.
